18.6 to MD Shanaka, Top edge off the pull is a stratospheric skier, taken well by Bowes at deep midwicket. Was a shortish ball that Shanaka tried to biff, seemed a bit hurried.. 179/5

13.5 to BKG Mendis, Slower one foxes Mendis, Sodhi takes the catch at short third. Excellent innings from Mendis ends. Was around a fullish length just outside off, Mendis was making room and tried lifting it over mid-off but it held in the pitch and got ballooned off the splice. Sodhi lunged forward and took a simple catch. Ravindra's drop earlier in the over doesn't cost much; Lister is among the wickets.. 122/2 17.2 to DM de Silva, Taken at deep cover, Lister has two with the slower ball. Was wide on a fullish length, de Silva tried to slap it over cover but got it off the top edge. Was through with the shot a bit too early. Seifert ran in and took a bread-basket catch.. 162/4

9.3 to P Nissanka, Jimmy Neesham has another 'what do you have for food' catches. Runs in front, leaps low and takes it mid-air at deep midwicket to send back Nissanka. Short ball was picked up early by the batter as he rocked back but the pull wasn't middled.. 76/1

14.1 to TWM Latham, the carrom ball gets Theekshana a breakthrough. This was length outside off, angled into Latham from around the wicket, and turning back at him slightly. It hurries him up, and he's late on the shot. The ball sneaks through and rattles the top of off.. 137/2
4 | 0 | 38 | 1 | 9.50 | 4 | 4 | 1 | 0 | 0 | |
16.1 to TL Seifert, no century for Seifert. This was a slower ball, length outside off, and Seifert reaches for it, but slaps it straight to Rajitha at cover. The fielder takes it at head height. Seifert is bitterly disappointed, as a hundred goes begging. But he'd rode his luck early in the innings as well. Either way, New Zealand don't have a lot more to do, thanks to that innings. 154/3
3.5 | 0 | 38 | 3 | 9.91 | 7 | 4 | 1 | 2 | 0 | |
5.3 to CJ Bowes, finally, an edge yields a wicket. Bowes tries to slam a fullish ball on off stump to the legside again, and once more there is a big leading edge. This one goes straight up, though, which means wicketkeeper Kusal Mendis can track it with the gloves. He settles under it near the point region and Sri Lanka have a breakthrough.. 53/1 19.2 to MS Chapman, he's gone now, though. Is there another twist here? This is a length ball, 140kph, and Chapman tries to pummel this over the legside again, and can only get a top edge to the ball. It floats towards cover, where Asalanka takes a good catch, backpedaling.. 179/4 19.3 to DJ Mitchell, another wicket! A team hat-trick, and this is getting hectic. This is a short ball just wide of off. Mitchell tries to flat bat it down the ground, with both mid on and mid off up in the circle. But it goes hiiigh off his tip edge, and Shanaka settles under it, and takes it above his head.. 180/6
