34.5 to HK Bennett, Auckland have steamrollered Canterbury for 139 in the Ford Trophy final, Bennett the last to go, flashes a cut at a wide ball outside off and Hopkins dives in front of McIntosh to take the rising delivery. 139/10
7 | 1 | 39 | 2 | 5.57 | 30 | 3 | 3 | 1 | 0 | |
1.5 to GH Worker, the old stager strikes with a lovely delivery, good length on middle and just nipping away from Worker, who nibbles and gets a healthy edge into the cordon where de Grandhomme at second slip takes a waist-high catch in front of his first slipper. 2/1 13.2 to SL Stewart, another former New Zealand batsman departs for Canterbury! Madness at the Eden Park Outer Oval, it was a half-volley on leg and Stewart fell over as he flicked uppishly, it looked to be going for four until Munro leapt like a salmon to take a stunning two-handed take to his right at square leg. 60/5
6 | 0 | 30 | 3 | 5.00 | 23 | 4 | 1 | 0 | 0 | |
12.3 to PG Fulton, Canterbury lose their two set batsmen in successive overs, Fulton charged down and skied the attempted mow over cover with a high leading-edge straight down the throat of third man. 59/3 12.4 to DG Brownlie, angled across Brownlie, wafts away from his body, Hopkins collects behind the stumps and Auckland go up as one, adamant that he has nicked it, the umpires choose to check upstairs, which they can do themselves in the playing conditions. Replays show a healthy deviation off the bat, Brownlie has to go for a duck as Canterbury lose three international batsmen in the space of seven balls. 59/4 33.3 to TWM Latham, Auckland have been smoking hot in the field, Hopkins' drop aside, and here Latham's innings is ended as Canterbury's last hope departs, it was full outside off and Latham attempted to go over the top, skied the drive high and looked to have cleared mid-off, de Grandhomme ran backwards and importantly side-on to keep an eye on the ball, dived one-handed behind him and plucked it before retaining control as he fell, an absolute screamer of a catch. 131/9

7 | 1 | 22 | 2 | 3.14 | 30 | 2 | 0 | 1 | 0 | |
26.3 to AM Ellis, poor stroke from the Canterbury captain costs him his wicket, tried to repeat the previous stroke but again couldn't get right underneath it and it settled safely in the hands of Bates at mid-on. 103/6 28.4 to RM Hira, Hira departs without scoring and that was not a well-advised shot, full outside off and Hira pushed at it without moving his feet, nicked it through to Hopkins who made no mistake this time. 111/7

4.3 to TG McIntosh, and out of nowhere, McIntosh departs, inside edges a cut to a delivery which cut back in and kept low, which was the key, Latham took the catch easily as McIntosh stares accusingly at the wicket. 20/1
8 | 0 | 31 | 3 | 3.87 | 34 | 3 | 0 | 2 | 0 | |
20.5 to C de Grandhomme, another wicket goes down as Auckland try to finish this in a flurry, de Grandhomme looks to go over long-on, skies a leading edge which swirls down to third man, Bennett clings on. 120/5 22.4 to DJ Grobbelaar, superb catch from Peter Fulton! He is loving his time in Auckland, this was angled across the right-hander outside off, Grobbelaar felt for it and edged, Fulton at first slip got down low to his left and plucked a one-handed slip catch with ease. 129/6 24.2 to KD Mills, well well, another wicket and can Canterbury conjure something out of nothing here? It was good length around off, Mills went for a big heave and dragged it onto the base of middle stump. 131/7

17.1 to Craig Cachopa, superb one-handed take from Latham diving in front of first slip as the captain's decision to bring himself back on reaps immediate dividends, it was a leg-cutter which moved away from the right-hander after pitching on off and induced a thick edge. 95/3 19.2 to C Munro, Munro departs for a breezy 21 as he tries to deposit Ellis into the Lounge once more, doesn't get hold of it and Henry runs around and takes a good diving catch at long-off. 118/4
5 | 0 | 38 | 1 | 7.60 | 18 | 5 | 2 | 1 | 0 | |
10.6 to AK Kitchen, unwiedly stroke brings about Kitchen's downfall, shortish again but wider of off and stuck in the pitch a bit, ended up trying to tennis forehand it through point and got a thin snick which Latham took behind the stumps with the reverse cup. 61/2 |
