A left-arm spinner, Ronnie Hira played in the 2006 Under-19 World Cup in Sri Lanka for New Zealand. Later that year, he made his first-class debut for Auckland, but has not enjoyed much success at this level. He last played a first-class game in March 2008, but has represented Auckland with more regularity in the limited-overs formats, and was a part of the 50-over and Twenty20 sides that took the domestic titles in 2010-11. Subsequently, he travelled to India for the Champions League T20. Hira is known for his sharp fielding and could contribute a cameo down the order if needed.
