West Indies A 160 (Walton 50, Prasanna 6-64) and 267 for 7 (Edwards 76, Shillingford 56*, Gamage 3-49) lead Sri Lanka A 413 by 14 runs
Scorecard
Sri Lanka A legspinner Seekkuge Prasanna continued to torment the West Indies A batsmen, increasing his match tally to nine wickets, as the visitors were left facing a big defeat in Hambontata. Despite a fighting fifty from Shane Shillingford , West Indies A were precariously placed at 267 for 7 at stumps, with a slender lead of 14.
West Indies A, who began the day with their first-innings score at 96 for 7, lasted only 12 overs, as Prasanna collected 6 for 64 to bowl them out for 160. Chadwick Walton compiled a half-century, but received little support from the lower-order batsmen, as the hosts earned a 253-run lead and put West Indies A in again.
The visitors, however, did not fare any better in their second essay. They lost their openers inside 14 overs to cheap scores. Kirk Edwards (76) and Jermaine Blackwood (39) briefly stopped the slide with a 77-run stand for the third wicket. But from 117 to 2, West Indies A stumbled to 175 for 7, as Prasanna and Lahiru Gamage struck at regular intervals.
With more than 25 overs of play left, Sri Lanka looked set to wrap up the game with an innings victory, but Shillingford (56*) counterattacked with three fours and five sixes, and added an unbroken 92 in the company of Nikita Miller to guide the visitors safely to stumps.
