Bangladesh vs West Indies, 2nd ODI at Dhaka, BAN vs WI, Oct 21 2025 - Match Result
That's all from our side for this game. See you soon.
Shai Hope, the West Indies captain, is also the Player of the Match: We say about West Indies cricket that we always keep fans on the seats, so... It was a very good game. Happy that the guys pulled it back. We should have restricted them to 160-170 but they played very well in the back end. But we fought hard with the bat and great to level the series. It was a tricky chase. It was important for us to keep wickets in the hand but we lost quite a few in the back end. Hopefully, we can learn a lot about our batting innings and take those learnings into the next game.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz: It was a new experience for us, the first-ever Super Over. I think it was not an easy surface to bat on. Rishad is doing very good at this moment. All batsmen were struggling but he was confident and batted really well. [On Saif bowling the final over] We didn't have any other option. I was thinking if we could get another wicket... but we didn't get it. In the Super Over, we needed 10 [11] and one boundary could have changed things.
Time for the presentation ceremony.
9.27pm Phew! Finally, we have a result in this spin-fest. West Indies win the Super Over to level the series 1-1. All to play in the third game. On yet another spin-friendly pitch, Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat. West Indies used spin for all 50 overs and restricted Bangladesh to 213 for 7. West Indies kept losing wickets at regular intervals in their chase but Hope stood firm. Greaves and Motie made useful contributions and Hosein's six off the last ball of the 48th over brought it down to 14 needed from 12 balls. The pair was still in the middle when five were needed from six balls but Hope hardly had strike and Saif bowled an excellent over to tie the game. But West Indies managed to come out on the top in the Super Over.

Roop: "49.4 why Hope takes single on this ball???????"
So, after 100 overs, we cannot separate the two teams. It's the first-ever tied game featuring Bangladesh in men's Internationals. They played 813 matches before today across formats (453 ODIs, 154 Tests and 206 T20Is).
We are going into a Super Over. A length ball at the stumps. Pierre swings hard but can get more height than distance on it. It's gone towards square leg and Nurul, the keeper, has called for it. He runs past the square leg umpire and puts in a dive. He gets under it and seems to have pouched it but somehow the ball slips away from his grab. Meanwhile, the batters have completed two. There was a chance for a third too as fielders scrambled to collect the ball. But think it was only a remote chance and the West Indies batters don't go for it
Two for a Super Over...
