Sri Lanka clinch a nail biter! Another full and wide ball that Cottrell can't connect with. Mathews is ecstatic and so is coach Mickey Arthur
That's all from us at ESPNcricinfo. As Sri Lanka pick their trophy, it's time for us to say goodbye. On behalf of Andrew, this is Sreshth signing off. See you on March 4 for the T20I series.
10.55pm Time for the presentation.
Dimuth Karunaratne: When Pradeep got injured, Mathews picked his hand up. Wanindu too. Real team work. This is a huge confidence for us. We knew they can hit big sixes, so I told Thisara to back himself. Avishka and Kusal put their hands up. Angelo Mathews may be oldest man in the team, but he's playing like the youngest.
Pollard says Mathews used the surface well. He is looking forward to the T20 series. Some new boys back into the squad.
Wanindu Hasaranga is the Player of the Series
Angelo Mathews is the Player of the Match for his four-wicket haul "Feeling good, although I was disappointed with my batting. It was a great team effort. Can't remember the last time I bowled all ten overs (July 2015). I knew I had to bowl extra overs after Pradeep got injured. So had a bit of experience. Not easy task bowling against West Indies at the death. Specially they've got plenty of guys who play around the world, so it wasn't an easy task.
Udana: "We knew if we got our variations right, the game was ours. Pitch was slow. Really slow, so it helped us. My plan was to bowl it little wider. Mathews is playing really well for us. He's really nice player. Much needed series win, especially against West Indies guys. As a young bunch, we are very happy."
Mathews leads the team off. '
Kapil Baldawa: "Game gifted by WI to SL. Just poor batting and judgement in the last 15 overs. Just don't know how international teams get it so wrong. Chase can hit and he should have come in before Walsh Jr"
Holte : "My boy Mathews well and truly back with his 2014 form!!! Exciting times ahead for SL cricket? "
apkp: "SL did it again without their spearhead bowler"
10.42pm WI coach Simmons looks disappointed in the pavilion. The teams now shake hands as Sri Lanka win the ODI series 3-0. Only the second time have they managed a clean sweep against WI. They did it last in 2015.
Six to tie. Anything else and Sri Lanka win the series 3-0. What will Joseph do?
full, on off, and he flicks behind square. They settle for a single
Udam Haritha: "OH!!! what a cinematic show, camera crew deserve a hat off, i thought six but a WICKET and Mathews did his magic again"
P Narain: "Whatever the result, Allen is a legend, battling on with the shoulder injury like that"
good length, and outside off again. Cottrell wants to go for the big one, but can't connect again
good length, outside off, but too far wide reckons the umpire
good length, outside off. Wild swing from Sheldon, but he can't make the connection...
is that six? No! Caught at deep midwicket In the slot on middle, and Allen goes for the biggie over the leg side. But it's not got the connection he was looking for, and taken by the fielder riding the boundary line
what a start! Short and wide, and Allen tees up before flat-batting over cover
West Indies need 13
full toss, on middle, and thumped to deep midwicket
full toss on middle, and flicked to deep midwicket
West Indies need to be careful now.... Just two wickets in hand.
full on middle, and muscled to long off. Allen wants two again, and looks like Chase is run out for a zero-ball duck because the throw from the deep is accurate again!
and that's why Allen came back on strike! Full, outside off, in the slot and he smacks it over the bowler's head for six! All 98 metres of that... over the sight screen. WI need 15 off 9
misses the yorker, is a low full toss. Drubbed to long on, and Allen wants to get back strike. Walsh is running to the danger end, and Perera collects the throw to whip the bails off. The umpires go upstairs, but replays confirm that Walsh is out. He did dive, but he fell short by around half an inch. Great throw from Shanaka, the substitute fielder. Good thing for West Indies is that Allen remains on strike
Vinay: "Where is Chase? -- Walsh and Allen are bigger hitters, I suppose....
full and wide, and edged to point for a single
good length, on middle, and flat-batted to long on for a walking single
full, outside off, and he goes for a leg-side swipe. Under edged to the keeper
dropped by the keeper? Surely looks so with Allen edging this slow and wide ball. Perera dived to his right and got fingertips to it. Hit the outside of his right glove...
full, outside off, and Allen goes for a big one. Not the best connection, and the ball's in the air for eternity. Eventually goes just beyond Mendis at long on
full, outside off, and he drags this to the right of deep midwicket, who has a lot of ground to cover. Does well to stop the four
Mathews turning it on! Good length, on off, and he looks to deposit this over cow corner. Not off the bat's middle, and the fielder at deep midwicket takes a comfortable catch, fairly inside the boundary line. Replays show Mathews bowled the cutter there...
Udana finishes the over well. Full and wide, his trusted line, and the ball goes under the batsman's blade
