Hayden Walsh

His father was an opening batter in domestic cricket, and his uncle was a fast bowler. So Hayden Walsh Jr already had cricket running in his veins. So much so that he ended up playing at the international level for both USA and West Indies.

Walsh is a legspinner who varies his pace and trajectory effectively. Born in the US Virgin Islands, he made his debut at the competitive level in domestic cricket in the West Indies, from where he rose up.

Walsh first represented Leeward Islands in a first-class match in March 2012 and made his List A debut in February 2014, juggling cricket and a career as physical education teacher. He was named in USA's squad for the WCL Division Three in November 2018 by virtue of being an American citizen.

In August 2018, Walsh made his T20 debut in a CPL match for St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, and made his T20I debut for USA against UAE in March 2019. His ODI debut against PNG followed next month. Being a dual passport holder, Walsh was also eligible to play for West Indies. And his performances in CPL 2019 - where he went from being a reserve to topping the bowling charts - helped him land a spot in West Indies' squad for the series against Afghanistan later that year.

He made his West Indies debut in that series, and even played for them at the T20 World Cup in 2021.
