South Africa get over the line with the skin of their teeth! Hendricks comes round the wicket and fires in a short ball, van der Gugten arches backwards and risky playing at it, looks to carve this down to third man but gets a thin edge, de Kock knows it and Steve Davis' finger was up quickly
South Africa survive a mighty scare here.
Imran Tahir is the Man of the Match: "Really pleased, good team effort. We believed that we could have won this game but it wasn't an easy one. I just tried to bowl wicket to wicket."
Borren: "We obviously let this one go. We played across the line to Tahir. It's a real shame. They got off to a flying start and we did well to pull them back. Malik is a fantastic bowler and credit to him. I have to take the responsibility too with my dismissal tonight. I'm miffed with the fact that we didn't get over the line. After our last game I'm glad we stepped up better tonight."
Faf: "I think we are making it hard for ourselves. It's a great sign when your side is not playing 100% and still gets over the line. Credit to Netherlands for some very good bowling. Tahir and Steyn were outstanding. Credit to young Hendricks for bowling well under pressure. Credit to Netherlands as they played very good cricket for 70% of the game."
It took a lot for Borren to come out there and speak barely minutes after the game ended. He wasn't joking when he said he was "miffed." In the final analysis you would say that Netherlands lost this game, rather than SA winning it.
That's it from us as far as this match goes. The toss for England v Sri Lanka is underway in a few minutes. Thanks for your company. Cheers!
he gently tucked this one towards square leg and thought of a single but they decide against it
nicely played, he stays back and dabs it to third man, singles will do it
it's a low full toss outside off and he makes room and pinches it wide of point
9 off 12 and only a wicket in hand!
makes room and drills this one just wide of extra cover
and Steyn's dropped it! It's not over yet, he needlessly looked to chip this one over the infield, this was in the air for a while, Steyn covered plenty of ground running forward from deep midwicket but spilled it on the dive
was that really necessary! The batsman needn't have looked to go over the top with the fielder pushed back, this was short and he was down the track and looked to slap this one over long-on, miscued and Miller took it easily
chips this one over the infield but mid-on was pushed back
excellent fielding by Faf and almost a run out! This was slapped towards mid-off and Fal flung himself to his right and threw to the bowler. missed the stumps and Tsotsobe's under-arm flick was off target too with the batsman short
Ojas: "@Sid, (personally speaking) because Netherlands have more to gain from this win than SA have to lose. One upset could be so much good for the growth of cricket. If the associates do well, a lot of interest will be created in different countries which is necessary to make cricket a global game."
they have seen off his last over without losing a wicket, they nearly did though as van der Gugten poked his bat out looking to push it to the off side
this was banged in short and he quickly ducked under the bouncer, close to being called a wide, one for the over signals the umpire
breaks free here with a punch just wide of mid-on, Morkel gives the chase and manages to pull it back
he can't pinch a run here too, defends to the off side, they are better off seeing off Steyn
gives him a bit of width and he punches it down to point, can't get a run there
close call again for the batsmen, too close to cut as he looked to scoop it to third man, close to the edge
Sid: "Can anyone tell me the reason why neutrals always seem to support the underdogs? And that is in spite of the fact that with SA winning, the tournament would probably be more interesting."
tries to steer this one down to third man but only just evades the keeper, thoughts of a second but they wisely decide not to
tries to drill this wide of cover but mid-off cuts it off
this was short and wide outside the off stump and he arches back and cuts to third man, in the air but safe
full outside off and drilled to the off side
