shot! SIBANDAAAA. Malik misses his length for once, sending down an overpitched ball. Sibanda gets low and wallops this high over long on for probably the biggest six of the match. The batsman high-five, Brendan Taylor watches on, almost stunned. The rest of the Zimbabwe team are going nuts.
Netherlands vs Zimbabwe, 7th Match, First Round Group B at Sylhet, Mar 19 2014 - Ball by Ball Commentary
That's the end of our coverage folks. The second match from Sylhet is coming up, so do stick around for that. Thanks.
More from Taylor: "Very basic errors on the boundary cost us 10-15 runs. Not good enough for a professional outfit. Hopefully we can rectify that against UAE and we'll be a chance."
Peter Borren: "I thought we were probably 20 short. That said we've got a good varied bowling attack, but we would have been confident with 150. It was a pretty poor start from us, but Tom Cooper is a class player and he showed that. Full credit to Zimbabwe, Brendan held their innings together with experience. Maybe if it wasn't for a French cut in the last over, we could have done more."
Simgwat: "after these two Zimbabwe games i,m all out of nails..... NAILBITING stuff"
Taylor is man of the match: We made it difficult for ourselves. They bowled good areas. I tried to get us as far as we could, and I'm glad we finished it off. We knew we were in with a chance because it can be tough to defend in the evening. Williams and I just wanted to take it to the end, and thankfully Vusi was there to finish it off.
Everyone is saving the single. 1 from 1 to avoid a Super Over. Another last-ball finish for Zimbabwe.
unnecessary from Williams, and this match is down to the last ball. It was a very, very good yorker on middle stump from Malik. Williams digs it out, but it goes straight to the bowler. The batsmen, however, have already determined that they would run, and Malik has the simplest of run outs to complete and the non-striker's end.
full ball outside off stump, Williams fails to connect again and Netherlands keep hope
oh! What luck! Zimbabwe level the scores with the Frenchest of French cuts. Its full on the stumps, Williams swings away, and the inside edge evades Barresi and speeds to the rope. Scores tied.
full on off stump, Williams tonks that down the ground aerially, but Tom Cooper runs around to cut it off brilliantly
yorker wide of off stump, Williams tries to slap it through cover but doesn't connect. There's an appeal for caught behind, but it's turned down.
Malik with the last over. 7 needed off 6
yorker again, Williams gets an edge to it, but a diving Barresi can't stop it
yorker again, but Williams digs it out well, wide of long on for another couple
Williams backs away and van der Gugten follows him with the yorker, but he swats that away wristily in between deep square leg and deep midwicket
yorker again, driven to mid off for one
full and wide, Sibanda gets on one knee and strokes it past cover for a quick couple
Vusi Sibanda comes to the crease.
he's got the big wicket! van der Gugten has been terrific in this match and he's delivered the wicket of the Zimababwe captain, with some help from Borren at cover. Taylor backed away and tried to lift it over the covers, but Borren leaps and pulls it down one-handed to breathe new life into his team's hopes.
Xolile: "@ Martin - your comment is very diplomatic and kind to Borren"
length on the stumps, Taylor keeps strike by blocking it into the off side and calling Williams through
full on the legs, Taylor places it well behind square on the leg side, so there's enough time for two
so close to finding the man, but Taylor doesn't connect well enough. He slogs across the line as Malik sends down a length ball on the pads. Taylor gets it high on the bat and the advancing sweeper can't quite get there. Batsmen get two
length ball outside off stump, Williams knocks it down to long off
Martin: "van Beek over Jamil or Seelaar was an interesting call there..."
full on the toes, Taylor chips it to long on for a single
Wide down the leg side. Always a danger with this plan of stacking the boundaries on the on side
length ball on the legs, Taylor just gently taps it to square leg and there's enough time for two,as the fielders have to run in from the fence
25 off 18 - looks much more gettable now,. Here's Malik.
slogs away and finds the gap. This was short of a length from van Beek and Williams swung it away between deep midwicket and deep square leg. Big over for Zimbabwe.
