and thats that, gets another fullish ball on the off, slashes that, low off the bat, away over the inner ring and celebrations for Bangladesh
SAf XI vs Bdesh XI, 5th Match at Harare, Jun 22 2012 - Match Result
Bdesh XI won by 3 wickets (with 1 ball remaining)
South Africa takes another beating and now have to win against Zimbabwe tomorrow to leave all three teams on equal points.
Looking at the scorecard one sees 20 extras and that just shows a team lacking in discipline.
To Bangladesh a great win and one that can not be faulted. They fielded well, bowled well reading the conditions perfectly and batted well enough. One however has to question the tactics or shot selection from Ashraful when the game was all but won.
Amla: We were not up to it in the field today. We were about 20 runs short with the bat but felt 130 was defendable. We will see what team we need to put in the field tomorrow.
Rahim : We are delighted with the two wins in a row. We used the conditions well by swapping the bowlers around. We hope the result tomorrow goes in our favour.
MOM: Mahmudullah wins the award - "I just do what I have to do for the team, if I do it well I am happy. While batting we decided not to lose wickets and then play a few shots if needed at the end"
That concludes this coverage, be sure to be with us tomorrow when South Africa have to win to stay in the tournament. Win they play in the final, lose they go home and Bangladesh plays Zimbabwe on Sunday
Goodnight all
brilliant fielding from Ingram in the covers, that ball was slashed from the full toss, Ingram dives across at covers and saves the match ... for now
OUT, gets a low full toss on the legs, swings that out the middle of the bat to the longest part of the field, straight down the throat at deep midwicket
forward, pushes to the on side, wants the run, sent back, Behardien fires back, direct hit ... TV called ... made it by a frame
Field is in now 7 in the circle
drives the full on line ball straight at Amla at mid-off
full on the legs, forward, wants a run on the on side, midwicket in quick, underhands into the stumps, bat is in and down
short again, pulls, takes one for the country on the shoulder, runs away to third man
great running, short well directed, defends high off the chest, soft hands, lands at his feet and sets off
just outside off, looks to run it to third man, beaten
full leg stump, plays way across it, off the pads to the on side
de Lange strikes, why you want to go aerial at this stage is not known, but he has a full go at a good length ball, slices that high to Amla at deep mid-off
yorker again, gets the bat down in time, rolls it away to where a short lrg may have been
another yorker, this one he just gets the bat down in time, inside edges to fine leg
goes for the block hole, just does not make it, flicked on the bounce towards midwicket
short, pulls from the off to the deep midwicket
leg side wide, extra number 18 when you are defending 130 is just not good enough
and again, this time he slices one over the extra cover
leg stump line, short and at last he makes proper contact, two bounces to deep midwicket
this one he does come forward gently and strokes to cover to keep the strike
short ball and again he is all over that swinging as hard as he can, misses
