One blow is all he needs, flighted up on length and dispatched over wide midwicket
Zim XI vs SAf XI, 6th Match at Harare, Jun 23 2012 - Match Result
SAf XI won by 6 wickets (with 14 balls remaining)
South Africa wins and makes the final against Zimbabwe tomorrow at the same venue.
A marked improvement from South Africa today but still work to be done. The youngsters came to the party with Morris showing some talent with the ball and his fielding ability. Parnell seems to have got over his nerves and performed very well today. Levi has shown what a match winner he can be.
Zimbabwe will be happy to make the final and have to look at the rolls that Masakadza and Cremer played in getting them this far. A dangerous team and will not be push-overs in tomorrows final.
Taylor: Too many early wickets lost today, but they did bowl a lot better today. We can at least come back tomorrow and know what to expect. Today we did have the luxury of knowing we were almost in the final. Tomorrow is another day but it will be a great challenge.
Amla: I am very happy with the performance today, the fielding was better and the bowling improved a lot. Richard (Levi) gave us a good start and we just took it from there. The pitch has improved over the tournament and we just need to improve this form into tomorrow.
MOM Wayne Parnell gets the match award - "Confidence plays a big part in bowling and I have got better every match, today has helped a lot with my self-confidence".
That concludes our coverage, be sure to be back tomorrow for the final, it is sure to be another good match.
Good night all.
nudges from the legs to the on side, sets off, sent back
stroked down the ground towards long on
strokes it straight back at the bowler
drives down the ground, note Mr Ontong, along the ground, to long off
GOT HIM, silly cricket from Ontong, been doing so well taking the ones and twos, looks to finish it off in one blow, launces towards long off, taken
worked off the legs to deep sqyare leg, look for two, see that it is Mpofu, sent back, again he fires it in at the bowlers in, just safe
flighted up, drives firmly at cover
defends gently to the off
DROPPED, what was that, comes down the pitch, launches to the on side, Cremer diving forward at deep midwicket can not hold on
flighted, not tempted, pushes gently to short midwicket
well forward, worked to the on side, no rush for the South Africans
pulls from the off to deep square leg, who does well going to ground to cut the boundary off
oops, slips that down the leg side, beats everything but the boundary rope
defends back down the pitch
on the back foot, plays with the spin to the on side
stroked down the ground to long on
A huge cheer goes up from the crowd knowing now that whatever happens Zimbabwe are in the final tomorrow and if South Africa wins then Bangladesh are on their way home
looking for the yorker again, good fielding from a sliding Sibanda at long on
good yorker, maybe some reverse swing as well, also well dug out on his toes, rolls away to the on side
full ball outside off is dragged across down the ground to long on
