Full coverage of Kumar Sangakkara's retirement
Kumar Sangakkara confirmed on June 2015 that he would call time on his 15-year international career after the Colombo Test against India. Sangakkara, who had originally planned to retire after the World Cup, agreed to playing on till the conclusion of the second Test of the India series following discussions with the previous selection committee. There had been calls, from within Sri Lanka's sporting and political establishments, for Sangakkara to extend his career by another year, but he declined those requests.
