Due to the unavailability of grounds, the HKCA has advised that the Summer Eights competition for 2008 has been cancelled.
In a statement released today, the HKCA said that with the loss of the grounds at Po Kong Village Road, it will be impossible to fit in the Summer Eights program with all the other ongoing cricket programmes that are being run on other grounds.
However the news is not all bad. The HKCA Executive has been working extremely hard to locate additional grounds to replace Po Kong Village Road and they are optimistic that this will allow the Summer Eights competition to be restarted next season.
HKCA's Ron Brierly thanked members for the support that they have shown for the Summer Eights over the years. The HKCA looks forward to the time when the Summer Eights can recommence.
