2011 Yuvraj Singh's previous ODI century came against West Indies in Chennai in the 2011 World Cup. Between the completion of that tournament and his century in this match, Yuvraj had averaged only 18.31 in 17 innings with two fifties. He had the worst average among 15 India players who played more than 10 innings in this period in the top-seven batting positions.
6 Batsmen to score 150 or more against England in ODIs; Yuvraj became the sixth and the first India player. The highest individual score against England is 189 not out shared by Viv Richards and Martin Guptill. The previous best by an India batsman against England was also by Yuvraj: 138 not out in Rajkot in 2008.
2 Pairs aged 35 or older who have scored centuries in the same innings: Tillakaratne Dilshan and Kumar Sangakkara - against Bangladesh and Scotland in the 2015 World Cup - and Yuvraj and MS Dhoni in this match. Before this game there was only one occasion for India when two players aged 35 or older scored 50 or more: Sunil Gavaskar and Mohinder Amarnath against Australia at the MCG in 1986.
5 Consecutive bilateral ODI series wins for India against England at home. The visitors' last and the only series win here was in 1984-85 series.
1 ODIs in India that have had a higher run aggregate than 747 in this match. In the Rajkot ODI of 2009-10, between the hosts and Sri Lanka, a mammoth 825 runs were scored.
2 Totals against England bigger than India's 381 for 6 in Cuttack. The highest is New Zealand's 398 for 5 at The Oval in 2015, followed by India's 387 for 5 in Rajkot in 2008-09. Overall, this was India's 23rd total of 350 or more in ODIs, the most by any team, going past South Africa's 22.
1 Number of fourth-wicket partnerships in ODIs bigger than the 256-run stand between Yuvraj and Dhoni. That partnership was also by an Indian pair and at the same venue, Cuttack: an unbroken 275-run stand by Mohammad Azharuddin and Ajay Jadeja against Zimbabwe in 1998. Overall, this is the fifth-highest partnership for India for any wicket.
5 Indian pairs to share 10 or more century partnerships in ODIs. The Yuvraj-Dhoni pair is the latest addition to the list. Sachin Tendulkar was involved in three of the other four pairs, leading with 26 century stands with Sourav Ganguly. Of these five pairs, the Yuvraj-Dhoni combine averages the highest - 53.52. This was the ninth century stand between them for the fourth and lower wickets, the joint-most for any pair in the format.
0 Centuries for Dhoni against England prior to his 134 in this game. His previous best was 96, which came in Jamshedpur in 2006. This was his tenth ODI century and first after 45 innings, since the 139 not out in Mohali in 2013. He had a longer stretch without a century only one previously: 50 innings between 2010 and 2012. He became one of five players to score ten or more centuries as wicketkeeper in ODIs.
4 Centuries for Yuvraj against England, the most by him against any team. Only 2 batsmen have scored more hundreds against England: Mahela Jayawardene and Ricky Ponting, who have five each. Among India players, Yuvraj has the most runs and centuries against England. Also England is the only Full Member team against whom he averages over 50.
2 England captains to score a century in an unsuccessful chase, including Eoin Morgan in this match. The first was Andrew Strauss against West Indies in 2008-09. Morgan is the fourth captain to score a century in an unsuccessful chase in India.
2 England bowlers to concede more runs in an ODI than Liam Plunkett's 91 in this match. Steve Harmison and Chris Jordan had conceded 97 runs each, the most for England.
