AUSTRALIA`S entry into a four-nation tournament in Sri Lanka
later this year is in doubt over security fears due to the civil
war.
It follows their refusal to play their opening World Cup match in
Colombo in February in the wake of a bomb explosion which killed
more than 80 people.
The Australian Cricket Board (ACB) have named a 13-man squad for
the tournament in August and September against the hosts, Zimbabwe and India.
Australia will also play a one-off Test against India and a
limited-overs series against India and South Africa.
If the trip goes ahead, Essex face losing Stuart Law and
Yorkshire will be without Michael Bevan for the final month of
the season.
Australia party: M Taylor (capt), I Healy, M Bevan, D Fleming,
J Gillespie, S Law, G McGrath, R Ponting, P Reiffel, M Slater,
S Warne, M Waugh, S Waugh.
