Babar Hayat named Hong Kong Cricketer of the Year for 2010-11
Babar Hayat has been named 'Hong Kong Cricketer of the Year' for 2010-11 while Natasha Miles won the 'Hong Kong Woman Cricketer of the Year' award.

Babar Hayat was named 'Hong Kong Cricketer of the Year' award at the HKCA's Annual Awards Dinner held at the Kowloon Cricket Club on 11th June 2011. Hayat, who played for Pakistan Club in the Saturday League and for Vagabonds in the Sunday League and Sunday Cup (T20) competitions, won the award for his all-round performances in all competitions. Over the course of the 2010-11 season he scored 1,445 runs (including 3 centuries and 9 half-centuries) and claimed 38 wickets.
Contenders for the top award included Peter Wooden from Kowloon Cricket Club and Imran Ahmed from Pakistan Association.
Natasha Miles from Hong Kong Cricket Club was named the 'Women Cricket of the Year' after scoring 510 runs without being dismissed.
Contenders for the women's award included Keenu Gill and Priyanjali Jain both from Kowloon Cricket Club.
In the junior categories, Pakistan Association's Aizaz Khan was named 'Young Cricketer of the Year' and Anshuman Rath from HKCC was named 'Young Dragon of the Year'. Furqan Tahir from Delia Memorial School (Broadway) was named 'Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year'.
HKCC's Mariko Hill was named 'Young Female Cricketer of the Year' while Annie Ho, also from Hong Kong Cricket Club, was named 'Most Improved Women's Player'.
Each age-group best players were:
- Under-11 Player of the Year - Charlie Walton (HKCC)
- Under-13 Player of the Year - Anshuman Rath (HKCC)
- Under-15 Player of the Year - Arsalan Yasin (LSW)
- Under-17 Player of the Year - Ghazanfar Mohammad (LSW)
The event also reflected on the career of retiring national skipper Najeeb Amar and he was presented with a special award to recognise his contribution to the game during his illustrious career.
