A sports enthusiast is negotiating a tour of Sri Lanka by the
Bournemouth and Hampshire Cricket Club of England which will
materialise soon.
According to Mr. C. S. Kariyawasam, he is in contact with club member
Bob Wittaker who has shown enthusiasm on making the tour. All
expenses will be borne by them.
In February 1977, prior to the MCC tour, a 17 member B & H CC team
toured Sri Lanka led by joint captains Bob Batchelor and Bob
Wittaker. They played seven games on a 20-day tour.
The 1977 tour had the blessings of the Minister of Sports and Board
of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka.
