The National Government through the Amateur Cricket office of the UCB will be donating cricket equipment to Premier League clubs from the disadvantaged areas.
Clubs from Port Elizabeth that are to benefit from this donation are United Cricket Club, Motherwell Cricket Club, Gelvandale Cricket Club and Northville Cricket Club.
"It is very pleasing to see the Government assisting our club cricket. This gesture goes a long way in helping to solve the problem that clubs experience with kit. It is also a gesture that I would hope local business would follow as there are many other areas where assistance is required." said Tono Mle EP Amateur Cricket Director.
The handing over of kit will take place at St. George's Park on Friday 1 August 2003 at 16H00.
