After the run-fest in Lahore, Pakistan and India move to Faisalabad for the second Test, beginning on Saturday, with a drawn series now the overall favourite with bet365.
With just two matches to go, it's no surprise that a drawn series is now the overall favourite, at 13/10 (2.30) with bet365. Pakistan are 7/4 (2.75) to win the series, while India are 9/4 (3.25).
In the correct score betting, it's just 11/5 (3.20) that the series ends 0-0, and 6/1 (7.00) that it finishes 1-1. Pakistan are 9/4 (3.25) to edge it 1-0 and 11/1 (12.00) to win both remaining matches for a 2-0 win. India are 14/5 (3.80) to win it 1-0 and 14/1 (15.00) to make it 2-0 with wins in Faisalabad and Karachi.
Pakistan have never lost to India in Faisalabad, winning once and drawing the other three encounters. Of the 23 Test matches played there, 12 of them were drawn, a statistic that is unlikely to pass the bookies, so expect the stalemate to be the overall favourite.
What is interesting is that of the 11 matches to have yielded a result, seven of them have been won by the side batting first. The average runs per wicket in the first innings is 34.20 and though it rises to 38.60 in the second innings, the third innings average is 32.40 and then it drops, quite considerably, to just 22.10 in the final innings of the match.
Those hoping for a result in Faisalabad, however, should keep an eye on the weather forecast as, with rain expected over the weekend, the series could well go down to a decider in Karachi.
