Alex Gidman is set to decide in the near future whether he will remain with Gloucestershire after his current deal expires at the end of the season.
Warwickshire and Surrey have both made 28-day approaches to speak to Gidman, but Gloucestershire are still trying to persuade him to stay at Bristol.
However, Gidman has hinted that it may be time to move as he tries to push for an England place after appearing for the Lions over the last couple of years. Warwickshire appears to be his favourite option so that he could team up with Allan Donald.
"My bowling has been my biggest weakness and Donald is the kind of guy who could help me," he told the Bristol Evening Post. "I want to give myself the best chance of playing for my country and Ashley Giles has been a big part of the England set up."
Steve Kirby is also attracting interest from Warwickshire who want to strengthen their quick-bowling line-up
