The Board of Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka ( BCCSL) is pleased to announce that on a request made by the Bangladesh Cricket Board and subsequent to successful negotiations, the BCCSL will be sending four coaches to Bangladesh, which is the latest country to receive ICC full member status.
Mr. Carlton Bernadus, was unanimously appointed by the Executive Committee as coordinator for this project. He is presently in Bangladesh finalizing arrangements with the Bangladesh Cricket Board.
Four coaches who have been selected namely- Malcom Perera, Carlton Bernadus, Senarath Alwis and Nelson Mendis will be in charge of the U13, U15, U17 and U19 Bangladeshi National squads. The coaches will be leaving for Bangladesh shortly.
The BCCSL recognizes that this broadens the opportunities available to National Coaches and further acknowledges the requirement for Regional cooperation between the two Boards - it is committeed to support the development of Asian Cricket and firmly believes that cooperation of this nature will guarantee a sound future for the game in the sub continent and constitutes a major part of the ICC's strategy to globalise cricket.
