India not to accept Dubai CC offer
The secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), JY
lele has said that the Indian team would not be participating in the
proposed one-day series in Dubai in September against arch-rivals
Pakistan.
A Dubai based newspaper said that the Dubai Cricket Council (DCC)
confirmed Pakistan's participation but the BCCI was saying that the
Indian team was not available for the tour. The newspaper also quoted
Lele ``we have received a request from the DCC but we are not in a
position to accept their offer. We have written to the DCC regarding
this matter, stating our refusal.''

participation in the tournament on their way back from Toronto where
they are slated to play India in a one-day series.
BCCI files contempt petition in Delhi court
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday filed a
contempt petition in the Delhi High Court against Rahul Mehra and
Shantanu Sharma, who had earlier filed a Public Interest Litigation
(PIL) accusing the Board of mismanagement.
The BCCI counsel Radha Rangarajan, seeked restraint on them from
expressing their opinions in their website, Rangarajan said ``A lot of
material has been fed on the website by Mehra and Sharma to launch a
media trial against BCCI even when their petition is pending before
the court. This amounts to clear interference in the administration of
justice and contempt of court.'' and added ``interference into the
judicial proceess will attract provisions of Section 2, 10, 12 and 15
of the Contempt of Court Act which prohibits parallel trial.''
The Division bench comprising Justice Dalveer Bhandari and Justice RS
Sodhi, while adjourning the case till July 12, said ``the judiciary
decides the cases purely on the basis of material before it which is a
public document.''
