Jacques Kallis, South Africa's prolific middle-order batsman, is likely to miss the last two one-dayers against West Indies, in Trinidad this weekend, owing to an arm injury which he sustained during the third game in Barbados.
Kallis suffered the blow when Chris Gayle smashed a ball back at him and struck him on the forearm. Kallis, who managed to deliver just seven balls, was rushed to hospital for an X-ray, and though it cleared him of any cracked or broken bones, the team management said he was still feeling a lot of pain.
There was also concern over the fitness of Herschelle Gibbs, who injured his knee during a practice session. South Africa, though, have already wrapped up the series 3-0, after the nailbiting finish to the third game in Barbados, and it would give them a chance to test out some different players in the double-header in Trinidad.
