NAIROBI, Friday - Kenya, who created the biggest upset in World
Cup history by beating West Indies at the recent tournament, are
to host their most prestigious cricket event later this year.
Kenya Cricket Association chairman Jimmy Rayani announced on Friday that Nairobi is to stage a four-team limited overs series
from September 28 to October 7 involving the home country, World
Cup champions Sri Lanka, South Africa and Pakistan.
The Kenyans beat West Indies by 73 runs in a group game during
their World Cup debut on the sub-continent.
Kenya`s captain on that occasion, Maurice Odumbe, was reported by
Nairobi newspapers on Friday to be negotiating a contract to become the professional with Dutch team Quick Cricket Club.
Details of the deal were not immediately available.
