At Sharjah, April 8, 2003 (day/night). Pakistan won by 143 runs. Pakistan 6 pts. Toss: Pakistan.
A pepped-up Pakistan got in the mood for the final with a crushing win. Every member of
their top order got in, only to get out soon afterwards, and it took a dynamic 76 off 58 balls from
Shoaib Malik to propel Pakistan to the highest score of the tournament. As Kenya dropped catches
and hurled overthrows, 106 came from the final ten overs. Kenya's reply began with a comical
run-out and did not improve by much. They reached exactly half of Pakistan's score, as Mohammad
Sami's impressive pace and control brought four for 25, his best figures at the time. Kenya only
avoided total collapse thanks to a classy half-century from Odumbe, who took 18 runs from Umar
Gul's first over.
Man of the Match: Shoaib Malik.
