Lancashire League: Merger ruled out

Ew Cartons Lancashire League officials have denied a possible merger with the Central Lancashire League.

Former secretary Rod Slater had stated he could envisage a time in the future when the two leagues might join forces.

But the Lancashire League executive have issued a statement denying such suggestions.

"The idea of a merger between the Central Lancashire League and the EW Cartons Lancashire League has not been on any agenda for discussion at any level.

"The rumours were due to remarks made at the Annual General Meeting."
