LARA ON VICE CHANCELLOR`S XI
WEST INDIES middle-order batsman Brian Lara has been named on a
University of the West Indies Vice Chancellor`s XI to tackle the
touring New Zealanders on March 23.
Lara, who scored a brilliant 111 against South Africa to lead
West Indies into the World Cup semi-finals yesterday, was one
of five players on the current West Indies team named to face the
Kiwis in the match at Sabina Park, Jamaica.
Roland Holder, Jimmy Adams, Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Courtney Walsh, his current World Cup teammates were also included.
West Indies` leading run-getter, Vivian Richards, was also
named on the 12-man squad.
Pakistani leg-spinner Mushtaq Amhed and batsman Inzamamul -Haq
and English pacer Devon Malcolm also got the nod.
