Match schedule announced for ICC World T20 Qualifier

The International Cricket Council has announced the match schedule for the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier 2012 to be held in the United Arab Emirates from 13th to 24th March 2012.

Matches will be played in Dubai, at the Global Cricket Academy and Dubai Sports City Stadium, and in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.

Tournament Schedule: ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier 2012

The 16-team competition serves as an Associate level qualifiying event for the ICC Twenty20 World Cup to be played in Sri Lanka during September-October 2012, with the top two teams from the Dubai Qualifier progressing to the main event. Hong Kong qualified for this tournament by virtue of its top three finish at the ACC Twenty20 Cup 2011 played in Nepal, where they finished second.

For the ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier, Hong Kong has been placed in Group A alongside Afghanistan, Netherlands, Canada, PNG, Bermuda, Denmark and Nepal. Group B features Ireland, Kenya, Scotland, Namibia, Uganda, Oman, Italy and USA.
