Chris Cairns Apologizes
Chris Cairns yesterday pledged himself to New Zealand Cricket and
said that he would rise above the personal differences with New
Zealand coach Glenn Turner.
He says that his summer in England is not easy knowing that his
supporters are disappointed with how he finished the international cricket season. In a press release, he said that his "focus
became the personal differences I had with Turner, rather than
what should have been the only issue, playing cricket for New
Zealand.
"In future I want to make sure any differences of opinion I have
don`t affect the team. To succeed we must all keep heading in the
same direction. To be accused of turning my back on New Zealand
Cricket is a heavy burden to bear as I know this is not in my nature. I have talent and I want to play international cricket to
fulfil this gift.
"I am determined to rise above the personal differences of the
past and pledge my commitment to New Zealand Cricket."
Earlier last week on a television interview, Turner said it was
less of a personal thing, but rather that Chris Cairns had difficults with rules.
