Pace Ace 2006 attracts over a thousands bowlers



Ten fastest bowlers selected under the Pace Ace 2006 programme will start training at the end of May 2006 for a period of five months, under the SLC National fast bowling coach Champaka Ramanayake.
Nearly 1400 bowlers participated in this programme which was conducted in March/April at Provincial Level at Dambulla (North Central), Asgiriya (Central), Badulla Stadium (Uva), Galle Stadium (Southern) and De Mazenod Grounds, Kandana, De Zoysa Stadium, Moratuwa and R Premadasa Stadium (Western), Sixty bowlers faced the finals at the SSC .

The above ten bowlers are to be provided accommodation, traveling allowance (only for outstation players) meals, training clothes etc. Some of them are to be selected to the National Academy for further development.
