Hyderabad, Aug 8: An Adviser of Pakistan Cricket Board, Nasim-ul-
Ghani, Manager National Stadium, Karachi, Irfan Mirza and General
Manager NESPak, Laiq Ali Abbasi paid a detailed visit to Niaz Stadium
Hyderabad, under the instructions of PCB Chairman, Lt.Gen Tauqir Zia
here on Tuesday to see the condition of Niaz Stadium for its
upgradation and further development so that it could be brought at par
with other stadia of the country.
They met HDCA acting president, Yar Mohammad Solangi and Secretary,
Abdul Majeed Khan at the ground. They also visited Municipal garden
(Rani Bagh) ground where four practice tracks would be laid.
Solangi told Dawn that the visit followed HDCA officials meeting with
PCB's Chairman on July 25 at Karachi where they had requested Gen Zia
that instead of constructing a new stadium in the city, the present
one should be upgraded and developed.
It may be pointed out here that an amount of rupees 8-million had so
far been spent on the renovation and maintenance of Niaz Stadium.
