South Africa's Shaun Pollock has achieved his highest career batting rating following his maiden ODI century in the Afro-Asian Cup played in Bangalore and Chennai last week.
Pollock moves up 12 places and is now in 40th spot in the LG ICC Player Rankings for ODI batsmen after a brilliant 130 off 110 balls in Bangalore, although it could not stop Asia from winning that first game by 34 runs, as part of a 3-0 series win.
Pollock, who played in the series as a specialist batsman following minor foot surgery, continues to lead the LG ICC Player Rankings for ODI bowlers as the top 14 places in that category remains unchanged.
Sri Lanka opening batsman Sanath Jayasuriya's slide in the rankings since the ICC Cricket World Cup continues as he has dropped six places and is now ranked 13th overall.
The swashbuckling opener, who had scores of 14, 11 and 13 for Asia, had dropped three places to seventh after a disappointing ODI series against Pakistan in Abu Dhabi last month.
Jayasuriya's drop in the listing means Australia's Andrew Symonds has moved into the top 10 of LG ICC Player Rankings for ODI batsmen. Mahela Jayawardene (12th) gains one place with his brilliant hundred in the last match in Chennai that sealed Asia's clean sweep.
India wicketkeeper Mahendra Singh Dhoni stays in fourth place in the batting table following a magnificent unbeaten 139 in the final match, the highest-ever ODI score by a number seven batsman. He now trails third-placed Michael Hussey of Australia by 10 rating points.
The latest rankings are not good news for Pakistan's Mohammad Yousuf as he has continued his slide down the list. Since February, the 32-year-old has slipped 14 places to 20th position compared to his impressive second place in the LG ICC Player Rankings for Test batsmen.
England's Kevin Pietersen still occupies top batting spot in the ODI list with Australia captain Ricky Ponting in second place. Ponting's team-mate Nathan Bracken is Pollock's closest rival for top position in the bowling list.
Among the emerging players, Kenya's fast bowler Peter Ongonda is the main beneficiary from the Afro-Asian Cup as he moves up nine places to 23rd in LG ICC Player Ranking for ODI bowlers.
Ongonda's team-mate Steve Tikolo loses ground in both the tables following disappointing returns with the bat and the ball. He drops 10 places to 60th in the batting list and 11 places to 73rd in the bowler rankings.
Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh, who took four wickets in two matches, drops two places and his now ranked 15th overall while Pakistan team-mates Shahid Afridi and Mohammad Asif gain one place to 17th and 22nd respectively.
Shaun Pollock leads team-mate Jacques Kallis in the LG ICC Player Rankings for ODI all-rounders table while West Indies' Chris Gayle is in third place.
