The England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) today announced that it has invited a BBC Radio Four team to spend the next six months making a three-part series about the work of the ECB.
Award-winning journalist, Brian King, who will spend much of his time in the
ECB's offices listening to, observing and recording some of the day-to-day
happenings, will produce the programme.
Commenting on the decision to allow the BBC "inside access" to the ECB, John
Read, the ECB's Director of Corporate Affairs said:
"These programmes are intended to highlight the nature, scope and complexity
of the ECB's role as cricket's National Governing Body, and to give Radio Four listeners a taste of the many challenges and issues involved in running a national sport. Cricket has been praised by Government for the responsible and professional way in which the sport is managed, and the ECB will shortly be launching its National Strategy for the development of cricket in England and Wales."
