Punjab's total of 59 is the third-lowest in the last two seasons of the Ranji Trophy. Only Hyderabad (54) and Haryana (55) have registered lower totals in the same period. Punjab's previous lowest totals in the last two seasons is 120 against Saurashtra in 2011. Punjab's lowest total (overall) is 42 against Haryana in 1978-79. The difference of 521 between Punjab's first-innings score (580) and second-innings score (59) is the highest ever for a team in the Ranji Trophy in matches where the first innings has been completed.

Ankeet Chavan's 9 for 23 is the third-best bowling performance in the Ranji Trophy after P Chatterjee's 10 for 20 in 1957 and P Sunderam's 10 for 78 in 1985. The previous best bowling performance for Punjab is 8 for 37 by Umesh Kumar against Delhi in 1974-75. CP Shahid's 8 for 51 is the third-best bowling performance by a Kerala bowler in the history of the Ranji Trophy behind Amarjit Singh's 9 for 45 and B Ramprakash's 8 for 25.

Rakesh Dhurv's 8 for 31 is the best bowling performance by a Gujarat bowler in the Ranji Trophy surpassing Jasu Patel's 8 for 53 in 1950-51. The 8 for 31 is also the third-best bowling performance in the last two seasons. Dhurv's match figures of 14 for 96 is the best performance in the last two seasons and also the best ever for Gujarat surpassing Patel's 13 for 81.

Rohit Sharma's 203 is the second-highest score by a Mumbai batsman in the last two seasons after Abhishek Nayar's 243 against Rajasthan in 2011. Rohit's highest score is 309 against Gujarat in the 2009-10 season. In the last two seasons, Rohit has played eight matches and scored 814 runs at an average of 74.00 with four centuries. This is his second century in the last two seasons in Mumbai (first in Brabourne).

Rishi Dhawan of Himachal Pradesh has scored three centuries in six matches so far this season. In six matches, he has scored 460 runs at an average of 92.00. Dhawan is also the highest wicket-taker so far in this season with 32 wickets at an average of 25.37 with two five-wicket hauls.

ID Singh became only the second player from Jammu and Kashmir to carry his bat through a completed innings. The previous player from the team to do so was Mohiuddin Mirza against Services in 1964-65.

In the sixth round, six out of the 12 matches played produced outright results. The overall runs-per-wicket figure in this round was 29.07. Fifteen centuries were scored in the 12 sixth-round matches. In contrast, the fourth and fifth rounds featured 25 and 22 centuries respectively. There were 17 five-fors in this round taking the total tally of five-wicket hauls in this season to 75. In the fifth and fourth rounds, there were 14 and 15 five-fors.
