Ribblesdale League: Barnoldswick bad luck
The Lancashire Evening Telegraph
Barnoldswick have been hit by another hammer blow in their search for
a new professional.
The Jennings Ribblesdale league outfit have already failed in bids to
sign South Africans Mark Bruyns and Remier Munnik during the winter.
Now Western Province star Ashwell Prince is the latest South African
to turn his back on the Victory Park club in favour of a more
lucrative move to Northern League side Morecambe.
Barnoldswick secretary Phil Brown said: "It's turned into a real
headache and I'm starting to get sick of it.
"We originally targeted Mark Bruyns who plays for Natal but he got a
job.
"Then we lined up Munnik but he got a back injury.
"Now we've just lost Ashwell Prince who was in South Africa's World
Cup 30.
"We sent him a contract and he seemed happy but we've been gazumped by
Morecambe who came in with a better offer."
Brown may now extend his search to India and Australia because he is
away on business in both countries during the next four weeks.
