Essex captain Ronnie Irani has undergone keyhole surgery in Cambridge on his
right knee after injuring it in the recent tourist match against India at
Chelmsford. During the procedure floating debris was removed which should
enable him to play in the Essex championship match against Middlesex at
Chelmsford on 4th September.
Aftab Habib, Paul Grayson and Ashley Cowan remain out of action for the
Colchester Festival Week starting on Wednesday 21st August, and an update on
James Foster's broken thumb is expected in the near future.
