Singer final at Premadasa Stadium
The venue for the final of the Singer World Series has been
shifted to the R. Premadasa Stadium.
The final was originally scheduled at the SSC grounds, but according to Cricket Board sources, the venue has been changed to
cater to a bigger crowd.
Sources also said the final due to be played on Saturday (September 7) will be a day game to suit TV audiences in Australia
and other countries who may have difficulty in viewing the match
if it is made a day/night affair.
All six matches including the final in the Singer World Series
will have an extra day kept free to replay any match that may be
affected by bad weather.
Host Sri Lanka, defending champs India, Australia and Zimbabwe
will battle it out in the four-nation tournament which commences
on August 24.
All four teams will play one round of matches on a round robin
basis. The two teams finishing on top of the league will qualify
to play in the final.
