Sri Lanka is expecting a favourable reply from Australia on their
proposed tour of Sri Lanka. The Board of Control for Cricket in
Sri Lanka has sent a fax to the Australian Cricket Board
requesting their confirmation. The ACB is yet to decide the
fate of its scheduled tour in July/August. Sri Lanka`s next
Test cricket commitment at home will be Australia in July/ August. The Aussies who were last here at around the same period
in 1992, are scheduled to play a series of three Tests and
one-day internationals. The Singer four-nation limited over
tournament which was first held in September 1994 will take
place immediately after the Australian tour. Apart from Australia and Sri Lanka, two other teams who will play in the quadrangular tournament are India and Zimbabwe.
