The Sri Lanka Cricket Board is likely to send a Sri Lanka Under 19 team to Malaysia around October this year

The Sri Lanka Cricket Board is likely to send a Sri Lanka Under 19 team to Malaysia around October this year. The team, according to Cricket Board sources will be picked from the 32 clubs which have qualified to play in the division III final round. The final round is expected to be worked off from next month.
Sri Lanka Cricket Board (BCCSL) is currently negotiating with the cricket boards of the West Indies, South Africa, India, Pakistan and Zimbabwe to have more senior and junior tours on reciprocal basis. Sri Lanka`s first ever home series against Zimbabwe
Sri Lanka will play its first ever home series against Zimbabwe, which include three Tests, in early 1998. Sri Lanka has toured Zimbabwe once, but the latter has never played Tests here. On their maiden Test tour of Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe will play three Tests and equal number of one day internationals. The tour itineracy will be discussed by the respective cricket boards later.
Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board has approached the Zimbabwe Cricket Board to have another home series this year to replaced the cancelled Australian tour here. If this materialise, it will be Zimbabwe`s first ever Test tour of Sri Lanka.
