A penetrative spell of 7 for 44 by former Sri Lanka Test leg-spinner Malinga Bandara helped NCC to bowl out Singha Sports Club for 159 on the opening day of the Cricket Board Inter-club Premier League match which began at Maitland Place yesterday. NCC made 31 for no loss at stumps.
Singha SC: 159 (N. Henuwara 16, S. Gamage 52, S. Jayantha 28, C. Soysa 35, Ruwan Kalpage 2 for 40, Malinga Bandara 7 for 44).

Only 150 minutes of play was possible due to rain on the opening day of the Premier League match between Tamil Union and Antonians SC where the home team made 98 for 3 at stumps at Sara Stadium yesterday.

Not a ball was bowled on day one of the inter-club Premier League game between Colts CC and Galle CC at Havelock Park yesterday. At the adjoining grounds, Matara Sports Club made 50 for 2 at stumps in a rain curtailed opening day of their match against BRC yesterday.
Meanwhile, the Premier League game between CCC and Police SC at Maitland Crescent, which was due to commence yesterday, has been put off by two days. The match will now commence tomorrow and will go on till Tuesday. The venue remains unchanged. - (C.D.)
