Former Moors SC and Bloomfield Division one cricketer, Sudharman de
Silva (pictured) left for the United Kingdom recently to represent
the Whimple Cricket Club of Devon during the current season.
Sudharman will also conduct coaching sessions throughout the summer
for junior members and will assist in ground duties at Devon. He
represented Moors SC in the Division one tournament for several years
and Hemas Group in the Mercantile tournaments.
He excelled as an all rounder at Nalanda College and was selected to
represent the Board President's XI against the visiting Pakistan team
in 1986. He performed well in this game and was named best bowler by
capturing a five wicket haul. The Pakistan team included renowned
cricketers in the calibre of Imran Khan, Wasim Akram and Javed
Miandad.
