Azhar`s presence will cause no problems, says Sachin

Sachin Tendulkar is confident that Mohammad Azharuddin`s presence will cause no problem in the team as he was a disciplined person.

Exuding motivation, Tendulkar told reporters in Calcutta that the senior most member of the team would certainly continue to advise him and his experience would be an asset.

Commenting on Azhar`s batting, the new captain said, "Azhar is a great bat who is going through a lean patch. It is only a matter of time before he finds his nick."

"I was not expecting it," Tendulkar said on his appointment. He, however, added,"I am mentally prepared to lead India. With everyone`s blessing I will try and do a good job of it."

On Navjot Singh Sidhu`s decision to make himself available, Tendulkar said, "it will be great to have him back as he is a solid opener."

There would be no major change in game tactics, the captain said. Vikram Rathore would in all probability open the innings with him. Keeping in mind Saurav Ganguly`s performance at the number three slot, "he will be retained there," Tendulkar said.

Tendulkar, who was in Calcutta to attend the selection committee meeting, said he had seen David Johnson bowl and found him exciting.

He felt India had a good chance in the tournaments in Sri Lanka and Canada even though the team did not have many experienced players. "All the teams are tough but we hope to do well," he added.

Tendulkar met Leander Paes for the first time today."Paes`s effort was great," the skipper said, and hoped the tennis star would do the country proud on many more occasions. Leander, who is 53 days younger than Sachin, described his meeting with the great batsman as a fulfilling experience.
