The Uganda Cricket Association is launching a Twenty20 league on June 7.
The competition, to be known as the NCR20/20 Corporate League, is run in conjunction with the Friends of Uganda Cricket. It will feature six teams backed by local companies, including The New Vision, Warid, MTN, Highland Mineral Water and Sleeping Baby.
Announcing the details, the UCA's Latimar Mukasa said the board was looking to capitalise on the growing popularity of the format. "There are plans to make this an annual event if we can sort out the demands of sponsorship and scheduling".
