The loss of their three most experienced batsmen in the first five overs - among them Masakadza to Kieron Pollard's leaping one-handed catch at point off a searing cut - put Zimbabwe under early pressure. An enterprising run-a-ball stand of 60 between Ervine and Waller provided temporary relief, but when Waller departed the innings quickly subsided. Johnson Charles's five consecutive fours in Jarvis's second over immediately put their inadequate total in perspective. Christopher Mpofu dismissed Charles and Darren Bravo in successive overs, but Lendl Simmons - who hit six sixes and a solitary four - and Dwayne Bravo completed the job with 23 balls to spare.
