Wilson receives hairline fracture

Retravision Warrior Paul Wilson received a hairline fracture to the left hand side of his jaw after he was felled by a bouncer in the Pura Cup clash against the West End Redbacks at the WACA Ground today.

Retravision Warrior Paul Wilson received a hairline fracture to the left hand side of his jaw after he was felled by a bouncer in the Pura Cup clash against the West End Redbacks at the WACA Ground today.
Facing his second ball Wilson was hit on the jaw by Redbacks paceman Michael Miller. The ball completely missed his helmet.
Wilson retired hurt, which finished the Warriors first innings at 178. A WACA Official immediately took him to hospital.
Wilson received a small cut but no stitches. A decision will be made tomorrow (Tuesday) on whether he requires a steel plate to be inserted into the jaw.
The 30-year-old right-arm fast-bowler will not bowl again in the match but will bat if required.
This completes a dismal match for Wilson. He was fined 50 per cent of his match fee after being found guilty of a breach of the Cricket Australia Code of Behaviour.
Both field umpires reported Wilson for using abusive language against Redbacks all-rounder John Davison.
Wilson was charged under rule 2.6 of the Cricket Australia Code of Behaviour. This states that players must not use language that is obscene, offensive or of a seriously insulting nature to another player, official or spectator.
The matter was heard by Cricket Australia Code of Behaviour Commissioner Ron Bowe who found Wilson guilty of the charge.
In further developments Warriors all-rounder Darren Wates will undergo an ultrasound tomorrow at 8.30am (WST) to determine the how serious a recurrence of a side strain is.
Wates will bat if required but will not bowl if the ultrasound shows a tear.
Wates had been hampered by chronic side complaints for the past three years. This Pura Cup match is his first since January 2000.
