West Indies allrounder Stafanie Taylor, who was named ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year for 2011, has signed up with Auckland Hearts for the entire upcoming domestic season in New Zealand.
Taylor, 20, made her international debut in June 2008 and has built an impressive career since then with both bat and ball. She's played 40 ODIs with a batting average of 43.17 and a bowling average of 16.70. She's been hugely effective in the Twenty20 version as well, with averages of 34.78 and 19.35 - the latter at an economy-rate considered top-notch for T20 stands, 5.67.
''Stafanie is a great player and also a very exciting one so we're delighted to have her on board," Auckland coach Maia Lewis was quoted as saying in the Dominion Post.
During the voting period for the ICC Awards (August 11, 2010 - August 3, 2011), Taylor, who is a preferred opener, played 10 ODIs, scoring 610 runs at an average of 76.25, and accounted for 15 victims with her offspin.
