†AUSTRALIA v INDIA 1980-81

At Sydney, January 8. Australia won by nine wickets, with 28.1 overs to spare. This match, the most one-sided of the series, was originally scheduled to be played in Perth. The change of venue, caused by industrial dispute at airports, brought no comfort to the Indians. After torrential rain the previous day, the pitch was lively and India were routed for 63, mainly by Greg Chappell"s medium pace. They were to suffer again at his hands when Australia batted, and he was the obvious candidate for the Man of the Match award.
