World Series Cup

At Adelaide, December 6. Australia won by 38 runs to share the lead in the series with Pakistan. Had it not been for fielding lapses midway through the Pakistan innings, the margin of victory might have been greater. Put in, Australia's batsmen produced a series of consistent innings, with Chappell showing a welcome return to form. After a sound start by Mudassar and Mohsin, the Pakistan innings fell behind the required run-rate, which rose to more than seven an over from the final ten overs.

Man of the Match: G. S. Chappell. Attendance: 20,566.
