ENGLAND v PAKISTAN

At Lord's, June 13. England won by eight wickets. Having started badly when Willis, in a fine opening spell, removed Mohsin and Mansoor, Pakistan's innings never promised to produce enough runs to trouble England. Under Zaheer's influence 64 runs were scored in the last ten overs, but England, with Gower and Lamb batting boldly again and Fowler holding the other end with gradually increasing confidence, won in the 51st over.

Man of the Match: Zaheer Abbas.
