†SRI LANKA v WEST INDIES 1984-85

At Brisbane, January 12. West Indies won by 90 runs. West Indies, without Greenidge and Haynes, both injured, started uncertainly after being put in but finally reached the highest total in a WSC match at Brisbane through a one-day international fifth-wicket record stand of 152 between Richards (three 6s and six 4s) and Lloyd (three 6s and seven 4s). Dias's stylish 80 was an innings of genuine quality, but Sri Lanka were always losing.

Man of the Match: I. V. A. Richards. Attendance: 9,626.
